iOFFER - alternative to eBay?

These guys have been around for awhile I guess, but many of us eBay sellers are finding it now for the first time while looking around for alternatives to eBay. If you're looking to buy something online, please look here before looking at eBay or Amazon -- help a new site find its legs.

Thanks for taking a look.

Just wondering what you think of ioffer, was it good to use to sell?

Its ok. They just did an update but the site is still slow and buggy but alittle better. They got 6 million listings now and sales are picking up but still nothing compared to ebay. I say its free to list so why not.

I've done about a dozen transactions via I offer and I have found its like the wild west. Great deals but if there is a dispute, I offer literally has NO contact phone number, no customer service, and they do NOT help if you have a dispute.
They actually ERASED my negative feedback, though they denied it, after a seller sent me $550 in defective merchandise and would not refund my money when I wanted to return the stuff.

"I offer" is not a buyer-helpful site, its pretty greedy - they take their cut and they are happy. They simply said "talk it over with the seller" and told me that the seller's account privilages were limited, but all the while the seller was continuing to sell! I still don't have my money and I offer wont' give me contact info on the seller, saying it should be on the invoice. (Yes, it was there, but in CHINESE, which Ioffer did not respond to when I told them.)
Another recent transaction: bought $250 in merchandise & 2 days leter IOFFER notified me (not by email; I just happened to log onto the website; again, NOT a buyer-friendly site) and Ioffer had posted a message to me saying that that seller's account had been suspended, but Ioffer did not offer any help on getting my money back & since seller is suspended, I can't contact them!
BOth of those crazy transactions have happened in the last 30 DAYS!! Only way to dispute any transaction as a buyer is through your credut card company, because even though I paid through PAYPAL, even they won't protect my purchase like they advertise, because it is not through ebay.
My advice, GOOGLE I offer. Many many buyers are saying same as me; be prepared to get stiffed at some point. Its not an if with I offer, its a matter of WHEN.

So, again, you can get GREAT deals, but be prepared to get screwed over big at some point with no one as your advocate.
And for sellers: you are up against folks selling DIRT cheap products from around the globe. NOw I am actually searching for an I offer alternative, just to be safe!

I have recently been 'done' by someone on iOffer. Some transactions are fine but the site has some massive flaws. I want to let iOffer know what thye need to do to improve. Please follow me on twitter and show iOffer what real customers are thinking
